Fund team

Fund manager tenure from 01/11/2016
Michael Stiasny has been Charifund’s investment manager since November 2016, when he succeeded industry veteran Richard Hughes. Michael is also manager of the M&G Dividend Fund and the M&G UK Income Distribution Fund. His other responsibilities include deputy manager of the M&G Recovery Fund. Michael joined M&G in 1998 as an equity analyst, becoming head of the equity research team in 2004 and was appointed deputy on the M&G Recovery Fund in 2011. He graduated with a 1st in PPE from Oxford University in 1997 and qualified as a CFA charterholder in 2001.
Elina Symon was appointed deputy fund manager of Charifund in April 2018. She is also the deputy fund manager for the M&G UK Income Distribution Fund. Elina joined M&G in 2011 as a graduate and subsequently worked as an equity analyst covering the telecommunications and utilities sectors. Since October 2014, she has been a dedicated analyst with the Recovery team. Prior to joining M&G, Elina worked at Bank of New York Mellon in its Treasury department. She graduated with a degree in international business, finance and economics from Manchester Business School in 2010. Elina is a CFA charterholder.
