M&G Sustainable Multi Asset Fund - Government bonds in sustainable investing

How is investment in government bonds compatible with an ESG approach?

M&G Sustainable Multi Asset Fund: ESG Impact Process

The M&G Sustainable Multi Asset Fund employs a sustainable investment approach that looks to generate long-term returns. The returns are expected to consist of a combination of income and capital growth through flexible asset allocation, guided by a robust valuation framework, while investing in assets issued by companies or governments that uphold high standards of ESG behaviour. In addition, the fund aims to maintain a core holding of assets that are considered to have a positive societal impact through addressing the world’s major social and environmental challenges.

Democratising sustainable investing

Sustainability has become a key item on the agenda of governments, institutions, corporates and private investors, large and small. Accordingly, those investors now increasingly want to commit their money to funds that aim to achieve attractive financial returns, at the same time as generating good financial outcome and avoiding harmful effects on society and the environment. In light of that, sustainable investing has developed significantly in recent years, building on decades-old ethical-investing principles, which were typically exclusions-based and often rooted in underlying beliefs.

Introducing the M&G Sustainable Multi Asset Fund

In this short video, Maria Municchi, Fund Manager, introduces the M&G Sustainable Multi Asset Fund, which launched on 14 February 2019. She will discuss the objectives of the fund as well as outline the multi-asset approach to sustainable investing.

The value and income from the fund's assets will go down as well as up. This will cause the value of your investment to fall as well as rise. There is no guarantee that the fund will achieve its objective and you may get back less than you originally invested.
