Senior Debt

Since the late 80’s our team has built up a substantial portfolio of over £3bn of senior debt investments in infrastructure companies and projects, including Private Finance Initiative (PFI) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) activity.

In the primary market we work closely with borrowers throughout the transaction process and provide commitments as and when required prior to financial close.

These senior debt investments fall broadly into the following categories of debt:

We are a major investor in both bonds and bank debt through the primary and secondary markets and within our team have significant skill and experience of credit analysis and monitoring. We also have experience of investing alongside bank funders with private placement or longer term debt transactions and also have the capability to perform agency and security trustee roles.

To discuss senior debt opportunities further please contact Silja Turville, Martin Walshe or Tim Huband.

Equity

Within the Group we have a dedicated team of investment professionals executing and managing private equity investment in the infrastructure sector. We manage the following equity funds focused on investing in the infrastructure sector:

In addition, we are responsible for over £1.0 billion of funds including over £600 million in third party funds. We were an early equity investor in PFI and continue to build our portfolio with investments of over £60 million in primary PFI equity and over £225 million in the secondary PFI equity market.

Mezzanine

Our team has significant experience of investing and managing mezzanine debt products and we currently manage a portfolio of over £70 million. We offer mezzanine lending in various structures including on a stand alone basis or integrated with senior debt facilities. These products can be either on a floating or fixed rate basis.

Mezzanine facilities provide our clients with the option of a cost effective alternative financial structure that can reduce initial capital outlay and at the same time enhance competitiveness. To discuss mezzanine financing opportunities further please contact Silja Turville, Martin Walshe or Tim Huband.
