M&G European Property Fund

The M&G European Property Fund is an open-ended core fund investing in a diversified portfolio of commercial real estate across Europe.

The fund has a portfolio of 37 assets with a gross asset value (GAV) of €1,581 million (as of 30 June 2016). It seeks to maximise long-term total returns (the combination of income and capital growth) through strategic asset allocation, stock selection and asset management.

Management and structure

The Fund Management team of David Jackson and Simon Ellis together have more than 40 years of experience in UK and international commercial property investment. They have established a well-recognised track record for investing successfully in Europe.

David and Simon are supported by our specialist in-house transaction management team and the Global Property Research Team.

Asset Management

Based in Paris and Frankfurt, our dedicated asset managers support the M&G European Property Fund. The team’s role is to manage real estate assets across Continental Europe, as well as source suitable investment opportunities.

Additionally, the fund has engaged Cushman & Wakefield Investors (CWI) to provide bespoke direct asset management strategy advice and access to its research.

David Jackson

David Jackson

David is responsible for fund management for Europe (ex-UK), and North America and is also the fund manager of the M&G European Property Fund. Since joining M&G Real Estate’s parent company, Prudential Plc., in 1978 David has undertaken a variety of investment, asset, and fund management roles in global real estate. He has been part of M&G Real Estate’s fund management team since 1991. David is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and the European Association for Investors in Non-listed Real Estate (INREV). He is also sits on the Board of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE).

Simon Ellis

Simon Ellis

Simon is responsible for property investment and real estate asset management in Continental Europe. Prior to joining M&G Real Estate in 2004, Simon worked in the investment field at King Sturge and CBRE, including a year in their Paris office. Simon is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and has an MSc in Land Management from the University of Reading. He is fluent in French.
