We offer two dedicated investment funds for charities:
The Equities Investment Fund for Charities (Charifund)
Launched in 1960, this fund has since enabled UK charities to participate in the income and capital growth of the UK equity market.
Charifund is a unique unit trust. The Trust is a charity and this ensures
that charities investing in Charifund obtain the benefits of an
investment in a unit trust, such as low charges and a wide spread of
investments, whilst qualifying for the same tax treatment as other
charitable funds. Charities registered in England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland can invest in Charifund.
M&G Securities Limited is the manager of the Trust. M&G launched
Britain’s first unit trust in 1931 and since then has led the way in most
of the major developments in the investment of personal savings.
The Charibond Charities Fixed Interest Common Investment Fund (Charibond)
This fund provides for the fixed-interest portion of a charity's investment portfolio, investing in an actively managed mix of UK government gilts and sterling corporate bonds*.
* Bonds issued by a company. They can offer higher interest payments than bonds issued by governments as they are often considered more risky.
M&G Securities Limited (the Manager) is the Alternative Investment Fund Manager and a charity trustee of the fund while M&G Investment Management Limited is the investment adviser.
Other funds for charities
In addition, charities may choose to invest in our other M&G funds apart from Charibond and Charifund. Contact our team directly for more information.
