M&G and the communityEveryone who works for M&G is encouraged to play their part in helping to create the right climate for enterprise, prosperity and the improved well-being of the community as a whole. It remains important to us as an organisation that we continue to support charitable and community activities in our own locale.
In 2011, £625,000 was donated to UK registered charities and community organisations. As a result of requests received, donations supported activities under the following headings; education, arts, heritage, social and welfare, children and youth, medical and the environment. Employees are also supported in charitable activities and the above sum included donations to UK registered charities which were:
Although generally donations were not made to large national charities, exceptions were made where employees had a personal commitment to a national charity or where donations could be applied to branches of national charities which were located in M&G’s areas of operation.
Over 220 UK registered charities and community organisations received donations from M&G during 2011.
