The Fund invests in a range of UK equities. The aim is to maximise total return (the combination of income and growth of capital).
The Fund is a focused portfolio of between 30 and 40 stocks that allows the fund manager’s high conviction ideas to feature as a significant part of the portfolio and allows opportunities to be exploited aggressively. The fund manager has complete freedom to invest away from the benchmark in terms of stock, sector and market cap weightings.
Michael Felton joined M&G in January 2005 as Head of UK Retail Equities.
In 1989, Mike joined Sun Alliance Investment Management as a graduate trainee in the UK Equity team. Later in 1997, he assumed responsibility for his first retail fund, the Royal & SunAlliance Equity Fund. In April 2001, he was appointed manager of the newly created Royal & SunAlliance Prime Fund, an early example of a new breed of focus funds. Upon the acquisition of RSAI by Friends Ivory & Sime in 2002, Mike was appointed Head of Retail Equities for the combined group renamed ISIS Asset Management.
Mike graduated from Leicester Polytechnic (now called De Montfort University) with a degree in Economics in 1989.
