Fund objective

The Fund invests principally in equities of UK companies with high growth potential with the sole objective of capital growth. Income considerations are ignored. 

 

Policy for achieving objective

The Fund will be invested mainly in quality companies with good long term growth prospects. They will exhibit characteristics such as enjoying high barriers to entry, a proven business model, a strong balance sheet, high cashflow returns and attractive valuations. The remainder of the portfolio is selected with a view to providing consistent shorter term performance to add value to the core holdings

 

About the fund manager

Garfield joined M&G's smaller companies team in February 2000 as an analyst. He became fund manager of the M&G UK Growth Fund in December 2007. Before joining M&G, Garfield worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers' real estate group.

Garfield graduated from the university of Liverpool with a first class honours degree in economics. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
